From Springfield IL, Bedford is a true son of the heartland. Often drawing upon history, Bedford’s songs have a strong sense of time and place. The songs are rich in sensory detail which allows the listener to hear, see and feel each narrative. With four albums to his credit, Bedford’s songs tackle scenarios including homelessness, the plight of a Confederate soldier’s wife during the American Civil War, the aerial triumphs of Amelia Earhart, the murder of Emmett Till in 1955, and many more.
Together with his friend Tim Grimm, Bedford is also part of the Americana/Roots duo “The Tall Trees” who have toured throughout the U.S.

About the Indy Folk Series
If you know the Indy Folk Series, you know it’s special: a listening room venue where the audience is up close and personal; where the vibe is real and the sound is magnificent.
The Indy Folk Series is an all-ages listening room venue featuring superb acoustics, art on the walls, and candles on the tables. Concerts are held in the performance space at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis, our home since the series was founded in 2001.
