From 2010-2016, the Whipstitch Sallies, hailed by critics as “bluegrass rockers with panache,” built a solid Indiana fan base and lit up venues across the Midwest with a unique and eclectic blend of musical influences. For six years band members Allie Burbrink, Kat (Erickson) Calabrese, Sam Herrin and Katie Burk crafted acclaimed albums, played festivals and toured extensively,  but ultimately went on to pursue different careers, relationships and interests.

Now, after over a decade away from the spotlight, The Whipstitch Sallies have returned for a limited “Pins & Needles” tour, ready to whip audiences into a frenzy with their dynamic playing and tight harmonies. In their catalogue of Appalachian, bluegrass, Americana and original songs, you’ll hear influences of tradition with a generous dose of creative genre-bending. Allie drives the rhythm on open-back banjo and acoustic guitar while Kat holds down the groove on upright bass. Sam’s blistering mandolin licks and Katie’s spirited fiddle leads kick up an exuberant racket that’s rooted in mountain music but informed by styles from country and jazz to indie rock. 

Whether you’re a long-term fan of the Whipstitch Sallies or newly intrigued by a band that proclaims their love for mixing claw-hammer style banjo with punk power chords, this is a reunion show you won’t want to miss!
